WESTFIELD — Graduating senior Sarah Moriarty has been named the valedictorian of Westfield High School's Class of 2023. Moriarty will attend the University of Massachusetts for Spanish and English. She said while she has a lot of different career goals, including considering going to law school after college, or teaching English or poetry at the college level, she is certain about becoming a fiction author. She said her favorite genre to read is historical fiction, but she is also interested in writing memoirs and poetry anthologies.
